I have began using KWFinder by mangools in the past few months. It's similar to Long Tail Pro, but just feels more updated and smooth.
The most amazing long tail keyword research tool I have ever come across. Requires you to have a google account with access to adwords. This is what I used to get started, however, I do not use this anymore.
The unpaid way to perform keyword analysis! Takes a while, but you end up saving some money and learn to use excel.
